When you reach out, I get back to you within a business day to schedule a property walk. The walk is during the day, takes about 45 minutes, and is free. We talk through what you've got, what you'd like at night, and what's actually possible.
I design the system from the walk and you get the layout and a fixed price within a week. The number you see is the number you pay. There's no upcharge mid-project.
Most residential systems install in one or two days. When the work's done, I come back at dusk and stay through dark to aim every fixture by eye. You're there with me. You sign off when it looks the way you wanted.
I stay involved. Seasonal check-ins, bulb replacements, the small adjustments that keep things looking right. If something ever needs attention down the road, you call me. Same number.
I started LUX in 2005 as a Christmas-light installer, and that was the whole business for a long time. In 2023, I expanded LUX to three more services: landscape lighting, bistro lights, and outdoor audio. Today those four are the only things we do, and they're what I want us to be the best in Houston at.
I'm an ILLI-certified lighting designer, which is a small club in Houston and a real credential. I do every consultation myself, and I aim every system at dusk after install. If anything ever needs attention down the road, you call me. Same number, same person.
I'm one of a few ILLI-certified lighting designers in Houston. What that means in practice: I walk your property, I look at your trees and how your house sits, I sketch the system from scratch. There's no catalog version of your install, because there isn't a catalog version of your house.
The fixtures we install are professional-grade brass and copper, built to last twenty years in Houston weather. The aluminum kits at the home center don't make it five summers. You can feel the difference holding one. You'll see the difference five years in.
When the work is done, I come back at dusk and stay through dark to aim every fixture by eye. You're there with me. We watch the system come on for the first time together, and we adjust until the look is right. The system gets handed over only after that walk-through.
